    The Junk Doppel Discussionthread

Post by sonny360 on Sun May 31, 2015 7:50 am

    Hi everyone,

In this thread I want to talk about junk doppel including the upcoming structure deck - Synchron Extreme Structure Deck.
For those who don`t know - it is a combo deck which is focussed on synchro summons.

So let`s start with the core of the deck:

    Junk Synchron

    Level 3/Warrior/Effect - Tuner
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Level 2 or lower monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in Defense Position, but its effects are negated.

He is the main tuner monster of the deck which can start a lot of combos + He is searchable by multiple cards in this deck.

    Doppelwarrior

    Level 2/Warrior/Effect
When a monster(s) is Special Summoned from your Graveyard (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is sent to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material: You can Special Summon 2 "Doppel Tokens" (Warrior-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK 400/DEF 400) in Attack Position.

Since Junk Synchron is able to special summon most of the lvl2 monster from the grave (which includes doppelwarrior) can this 2 cards can end into different ways to synchro summon.
You can go into different LVL 5`s like T.G. Hyper Librarian, Armades or Junk Warrior or a level 7 for a possible field nuke of Black Rose Dragon.
I just talked about Hyper Librarian - so if there is a lvl 1 tuner monster in the grave and you have junk synchron & doppelwarrior in your hand you are able to bring out the Hyper-Formula Combo and draw 2 more cards.

    Quickdraw Synchron

    Level 5/Machine/Effect - Tuner
You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by sending 1 monster from your hand to the Graveyard. For a Synchro Summon, you can substitute this card for any 1 "Synchron" Tuner monster. Cannot be used as a Synchro Material, except for the Synchro Summon of a monster that lists a "Synchron" monster as a Tuner.

Quickdraw Synchron is technically a -1, but since you have cards in the deck, which have the most usage in the grave he is needed in this type of deck.
(for example dandylion, level eater, quillbolt hedgehog etc.).
On top of that you can go into different synchro monsters, which list a synchron tuner like Junk Warrior, Drill Warrior, Road Warrior and the new Jet Warrior etc.

    Level Eater

    Level 1/Insect/Effect
If this card is in the Graveyard: You can target 1 Level 5 or higher monster you control; reduce its Level by 1, and if you do, Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. This face-up card on the field cannot be Tributed, except for a Tribute Summon.

Not much to say about Level Eater, he and Quickdraw Synchron are an instant Jet Warrior or Junk Warrior.
Combine those 2 + Synchron Explorer and you can go into several combo plays, which can end into a Delta Accel Synchro which will  be most of the time
    Shooting Quasar Dragon.

    Jet Synchron

    Level 1/Machine/Effect - Tuner
If this card is sent to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material: You can add 1 "Junk" monster from your Deck to your hand. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use 1 "Jet Synchron" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Jet Synchron is a great addition from Synchron Extreme. He is basically an upgraded version of Unknown Synchron,
which can special summon itself from the grave.
Plus being able to add a Junk Synchron while you are doing the Hyper Formula Play is just great.

Any other main deck Monster is up to the player`s preference.

I would recommend the plant engine in form of Glow-Up Bulb & Dandylion. - Spore is also an option
The Lightsworn Engine in form of Ryko, Lyla & Raiden are also very important you can technically get horrible mills with them.
Milling your Spells isn`t really great, but if you hit the right cards these can end into some great synchro plays.
Since Junk Doppel is running automatically Light & Darks, Chaos Monsters like Chaos Sorcerer & Black Luster Soldier are available for the deck.
Other Options for Synchro Plays are cards like Plagspreader Zombie, Spell Striker, Synchron Explorer, Rush, Quillbolt Hedgehog, Mathmatician (which is great, if you have Quickdraw Synchron in your hand).

Rush Warrior & Synchron Carrier gives the deck another focus on.
You can play on a Junk Warrior focused deck.

    Rush Warrior

    Level 2/Warrior/Effect
During damage calculation (in either player's turn), if a "Warrior" Synchro Monster you control battles an opponent's monster: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; double your battling monster's ATK during that damage calculation only. You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 "Synchron" monster in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Rush Warrior" once per turn.

    Synchron Carrier

    Level 2/Machine Effect
During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 "Synchron" monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) If another "Synchron" monster(s) is sent to your Graveyard as a Synchro Material for the Synchro Summon of a Warrior or Machine-Type Synchro Monster: You can Special Summon 1 "Synchron Token" (Machine-Type/EARTH/Level 2/ATK 1000/DEF 0). You can only use this effect of "Synchron Carrier" once per turn.

Other important Spells to the deck are: Tuning, Reinforcement of the Army (ROTA), One For One, Foolish Burial, Allure of Darkness, Charge of the Light Brigade & Soul Charge.

Now to the most important part of this - The Extra Deck.

With 15 extra deck spots it can be really hard to add the correct Synchro Monsters.

1st of all the Synchro Tuner Monsters. I would prefer those 3.

    Formula Synchron

    Level 2/Synchro/Machine/Effect - Tuner
    1 Tuner + 1 non-Tuner monster
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can draw 1 card. During your opponent's Main Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon using this card you control (this is a Quick Effect).

In my opinion Formula Synchron is the best synchro tuner, which exist`s at the moment.
With the help of T.G. Hyper Librarian and self-reviveable lvl 1 tuners you can technically draw 2-4 cards.
Plus you are able to synch during your opponent`s main phase like most of the synchro tuners is just great.

    Accel Synchron

    Level 5/Machine/Synchro/Effect - Tuner
    1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
    You can only Synchro Summon "Accel Synchron(s)" once per turn. During your opponent's Main Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon using this card you control (this is a Quick Effect). Once per turn: You can send 1 "Synchron" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, then activate 1 of these effects;
    ● Increase this card's Level by the Level of the monster sent to the Graveyard by this effect.
    ● Reduce this card's Level by the Level of the monster sent to the Graveyard by this effect.

Basically Accel Synchron can change his Level. You can sent Jet Synchron to the grave for his level manipulation.
Of course he can synch during your opponnent`s turn.
With the field of Junk Synchron and Doppel Warrior you can technically synch into almost every monster of your Extra Deck.

    Child Dragon

    Wyrm/Synchro/Tuner/Effect

    1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When using this Synchro Summoned card as a Synchro Material, you can use 1 monster in your hand as a Synchro Material. Unaffected by other monster effects.

And the next combo-intense synchro tuner is here!
Child Dragon is the combo piece to get a lot of hyper draws.
Let`s say you have the standard play (hyper + formula + 1 doppeltoken)
->synch formula + token in child dragon; hyper draw
->synch child dragon + doppel in hand for accel synchron; hyper draw
    ->get 2 doppel tokens
->use accel synchrons eff; sent synchron explorer; accel is level 7 now
->synch with accel synchron & both tokens for trishula; hyper draw

Quasar is also a possible option in this situation, if you have a self-rebornable level 1 tuner in your grave, which isn`t really difficult.

    Now "normal" Synchro Monsters:

    T.G. Hyper Librarian

    Level 5/Spellcaster/Effect/Synchro
    1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
If a monster is Synchro Summoned: Draw 1 card. This card must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect.

Hyper Librarian is one of the best Level 5`s the deck has right now.
Being able to synch into it and then go off with a Road Warrior, which will make a Formula Synchron is great to increase your hand.
If that`s the case you have the right materials to go during your opponnent`s turn into an Accel Synchro Monster like Stardust Warrior.
Other generic Level 5`s which are good are either Armades or Catastor.

    Jet Warrior

    Level 5/Warrior/Synchro/Effect
"Jet Synchron" + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; return it to the hand. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can Tribute 1 Level 2 or lower monster; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard in Defense Position, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use each effect of "Jet Warrior" once per turn.

Jet Warrior is a great addition to the extra deck. You get a bounce effect on his summon & he can reborn himself from the grave.
If you have the possibility to go into the standard hyper formula play, while you have Jet Warrior in the grave you can use his effect to tribute the
2nd doppel token and you can perform a delta accel synchro summon.

    Drill Warrior

    Level 6/Warrior/Synchro/Effect
"Drill Synchron" + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters.
Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1: You can halve this card's ATK, and if you do, it can attack your opponent directly this turn. Once per turn: You can discard 1 card, and if you do, banish this card. During your next Standby Phase: Special Summon this card banished by this effect, then add 1 monster from your Graveyard to your hand.

Drill Warrior is another nice Quickdraw target.
You can also use Junk Gardna as ´Level 6, but I prefer Drill Warrior over Junk Gardna.
Plus he is a target for Stardust Warrior.
He has also a nice effect for discard fodder and to recycle important monster cards
like Junk Synchron or Quickdraw Synchron.

    Black Rose Dragon

    Level 7/Dragon/Synchro/Effect
    1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy all cards on the field. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; change that target to face-up Attack Position, and if you do, its ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn.

We all know what does BRD does in the majority of the time.
Nuke the entire field during your or your opponnent`s turn.
You can also consider Moonlight Rose Dragon or Clear Winged Synchro Dragon as your generic Level 7`s

    Stardust Spark Dragon

    Level 8/Dragon/Synchro/Effect
    1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 face-up card you control; once during this turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects.

Personally I like Stardust Spark over the regular Stardust Dragon, but that`s up to you.
A 2nd generic level 8 is also nice - I would go with Scrap Dragon.
You can also consider Beelze, but keep in mind you need a dark-tuner monster.

    Road Warrior

    Level 8/Warrior/Synchro/Effect
"Road Synchron" + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn: You can Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower Warrior or Machine-Type monster from your Deck.

Next to his 3k atk stats Road Warrior is the gate to get not only a jet synchron from the deck, but he is the part you need to go for a Stardust Warrior or
    Shooting Quasar Dragon.
Definitely 1 of the most important Quickdrawtargets the deck has available for the moment.

    Junk Destroyer

    Level 8/Warrior/Synchro/Effect
"Junk Synchron" + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can target cards on the field, up to the number of non-Tuner monsters used for the Synchro Summon of this card; destroy those targets.

Basically a level 8 Quickdrawtarget with a fieldnuke without destroying itself.

    Stardust Warrior

    Level 10/Warrior/Synchro/Effect
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 1 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters
During either player's turn, when your opponent would Special Summon a monster(s): You can Tribute this card; negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy that monster(s). During the End Phase, if this effect was activated this turn (and was not negated): You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If this card is destroyed by battle or if this face-up card you control leaves the field by an opponent's card effect and is still in your possession: You can Special Summon 1 Level 8 or lower "Warrior" Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck. (This is treated as a Synchro Summon.)

Stardust Warrior is the Synchron Extreme Structure Deck Boss Monster. It`s a generic accel synchro monster, this means you need a synchro monster and a synchro-tuner. Basically he is an inherrent summon negater - similar to Thunder King Rai-Oh.
When he leaves the field he is able to special summon a warrior monster (warrior in name not type; level 8 or lower).
So you can get Jet Warrior and use it`s effect to bounce a card from your opponnent.

    Shooting Star Dragon

    Level 10/Dragon/Synchro/Effect
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + "Stardust Dragon"
Once per turn: You can excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, shuffle them back in, also this card's maximum number of attacks per Battle Phase this turn equals the number of Tuner monsters excavated. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that would destroy a card(s) on the field: You can negate the effect, and if you do, destroy it. Once per turn, when an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can target the attacking monster; banish this card, and if you do, negate that attack. During the next End Phase: Special Summon this card banished by this effect.

Nowadays Shooting Star Dragon will only get used, because of Quasar`s last effect.
However it`still a great monster. Only downside on the summon requirements is you need the regular Stardust Dragon.

    Shooting Quasar Dragon

    Level 12/Dragon/Synchro/Effect
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 2 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters
Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card's maximum number of attacks per Battle Phase equals the number of non-Tuner monsters used as its Synchro Material. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated: You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. When this card leaves the field: You can Special Summon 1 "Shooting Star Dragon" from your Extra Deck.

Everyone should know Quasar. He is the Boss of the extra deck. If possible the 1st turn goal of the deck is to bring out Quasar or another great monster.
The only bad thing about him is he can miss his timing when you planned to get the replacement in form of Shooting Star Dragon.
You can also consider playing T.G. Halberd Cannon or the new Stardust Sifr Spark Dragon.
But I will still prefer Quasar over Sifr.

This are all cards which are available in the moment.
But some things could happen in the future like more Quickdrawtargets to complete the synchron archetype.
A new accel synchro monster is on the way.
Or something could be unbanned from the banned list.
I will explain the last 2 sentences right now.

    Stardust Chronicle Spark Dragon

    Level 10/Dragon/Synchro/Effect
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 1 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters
Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, during either player’s turn: You can banish 1 Synchro Monster from your Graveyard; until the end of this turn, this card is unaffected by other card effects. If this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by your opponent (by battle or card effect): You can target 1 of your banished Dragon-Type Synchro Monsters; Special Summon it.

He is basically the counterpart of Shooting Star Dragon from the Manga.
He can make himself unaffected by other card effects.
So even if he gets destroyed you can get a banished Stardust Dragon back to the field.

And lastly a possbile banned list push for the Structure.

Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier

    Level 9/Dragon/Synchro/Effect
    1 Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can activate this effect to remove from play up to one card each from your opponent's hand, field and Graveyard. (The card in the hand is chosen at random.)

If Konami is deciding to bring Trish back to game, this would be really great.
You can counter your opponnent during their turn with the help of the synchro tuners.
Plus with the help of Level Eater & any level 1 tuner you can transform it into Stardust Warrior or Stardust Chronicle Spark Dragon.

Edit: Yes they really did it! Trish is back.

I hope this article was helpful for all of you!
I love this deck just because you have the feeling to synchro summon anytime into any level of your extra deck.

If you wanna see how the deck plays.
